Zusammenfassung:A motor vehicle counterflow radiator comprises a primary inlet 124IN for receiving coolant, a primary outlet 1240UT for outputting cooled coolant, and at least one conduit defining a coolant flowpath. Each conduit has a first portion 121 and a second portion 122 downstream of the first portion with respect to the coolant flowpath. The first and second portions are adjacent and arranged for mutual counterflow of coolant. In use, cooling air flows over the second portion before the first portion to cause the coolant to flow in an upward direction against gravity through the first portion and in a downward direction with gravity through the second portion. The radiator may comprise an auxiliary coolant inlet 123IN, the coolant flowing through the first and second portions from the auxiliary inlet to the primary outlet. The radiator may comprise a bypass coolant flow path between the primary inlet and primary outlet which is opened and closed by a bypass valve 127. A cooling circuit for an engine comprising the radiator may have a radiator bypass configuration, a first standard radiator cooling configuration using the primary inlet and a second enhanced radiator cooling configuration using the auxiliary inlet.
