Quick release window shade system

A quick release device includes a shaft 310 and a shade tube 100 engaged with the shaft. A shade is wound around the shade tube, and the shade tube is configured to rotate with the shaft to wind and unwind the shade from the shade tube. A first rotating brake plate 130 engages with the shaft. A spring 120 is configured to apply pressure to the first rotating brake plate, while a magnet 110 is configured for applying magnetism to the spring. In response to the magnet applying magnetism to the spring, the spring contracts and releases pressure on the first rotating brake plate, allowing the shade tube to rotate. A shade bracket may be provided, and at least one of the first rotating brake plate, the spring or the magnet may be located on a side of the bracket facing away from the shade tube. A pulsing system may be provided to pulse the magnet to control descent of the shade. The device may have a control system that may be activated by an activation app on a smartphone.
