Resilient wound dressing

A resilient wound dressing comprising an absorbent layer 8 comprising a non-woven resilient sheet of elastomeric material 8b bonded to a non-woven absorbent material 8a, an elastomeric backing layer 10, and an elastomeric adhesive layer 9 located between the absorbent layer 8 and the backing layer 10 to adhere the absorbent layer 8 to the backing layer 10. The non-woven resilient 8b sheet may comprises melt blown polymer web comprising polyurethane fibres. The non-woven absorbent material 8a may be needled felt. The elastomeric backing layer 10 may be a perforated polyurethane film. The dressing may include a further elastomeric adhesive layer 11. The elastomeric adhesive layers 9,11 may comprise hydrocolloid comprising sodium carboxymethylcellulose, polysaccharides, and pectin. In another aspect a manufacturing method using a pre-expanded state and needle bonding is described. In another aspect the dressing exhibits a fluted configuration and flattened configuration.
