Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:	A vacuum pump seal, comprising a seal element 1, and inner 2 and outer 3 seal elements, all of which are toroidal. The seal element 1 is positioned between the inner 2 and outer 3 seal carriers, the inner 2 and outer 3 seal carriers being positioned next to the seal element's inner and outer surfaces respectively. The outer seal carrier 3 has a means for holding the seal element 1 in position. The seal element 1 has at least one protrusion 9, such as a continuous protrusion that extends around its inner surface, which protrudes into a hole 10, such as a continuous groove, in the inner seal carrier 2. The seal element 1 may comprise an elastomer, such as a silicone-based polymer. The seal may form part of a vacuum pump seal system, comprising flanges 5, 6 located on either side of the seal.
