Zusammenfassung:An apparatus for the visualisation of a print, such as a fingerprint, footprint, palm print etc, on an object comprises: a base 2 comprising a heating element (10a, 10b, figure 3) in thermal communication with a receptacle 7 for storing an agent. In embodiments the agent can be a metal halide of S4N4 such as CuBr.S4N4. Also disclosed is a housing 4 to provide a sealed chamber; and a port 6 for applying a vacuum to, or releasing a vacuum from, the sealed chamber. Further disclosed is a system incorporating the apparatus with a cartridge and agent.
