Method for determining at least one quantity of hydrocarbon compounds in a geological sample

A method for determining at least one quantity of hydrocarbon compounds contained in a geological sample, comprising: heating the sample from a first temperature (T1) to a second temperature (T2), according to a first predetermined heating rate, and maintaining T2 during a first predetermined duration; heating the sample from T2 to a third temperature (T3), according to a second predetermined heating rate, and maintaining T3 during a second predetermined duration; heating the sample from T3 to a fourth temperature (T4), according to a third predetermined heating rate, and maintaining T4 during a third predetermined duration; and heating the sample from T4 to a fifth temperature (T5), according to a fourth predetermined heating rate, and maintaining T5 during a fourth predetermined duration; wherein T1 ranges from 50 to 120 °C, and wherein at least one quantity of hydrocarbon compounds is determined from at least one of the heating steps.
