Zusammenfassung:A system for the controlled use of personally owned mobile phones in a business environment is disclosed which is applicable to companies / enterprises with a multi-national presence using existing infrastructure for handling fixed line calls made by/to employees. Routing at least those calls that should or must be recorded / stored via a "Mobile Access Point" MAP 24, preferably in the country/region the phone is currently being used within. Only a local leg of a call traverses a mobile network with the call being recorded as required and routed to its endpoint within/via an existing corporate network / infrastructure / private branch exchange PBX and a least cost routing plan LCR. Additional features include: initiating concurrent voice and/or video connections, or more than one audio/video path, monitoring the states / health of other MAPs, presenting calling party information identifying an alternative number to an originating mobile phone, including a plurality of options which results in a different set of actions being taken with regard to how long a call rings and what is done afterwards (via Interactive Voice Response, IVR), and monitoring the state and/or performance of multiple networks to determine which should be used for a call.
