Zusammenfassung: | An injection device 100 comprising: a syringe receiving body 118; a firing-mechanism comprising a plunger and driver system; a lockout shroud 112 telescopically coupled to a forward end of body 118 to shield a syringe-needle prior to device 100 activation; a biasing member 120, biasing lockout-shroud 112 in a forward direction relative to body 118, lockout-shroud 112 coupled to the firing-mechanism, such that a first predefined rearward movement of lockout-shroud 112 activates the driver-system, driving the plunger forward; and a commitment feature in the form of lockout shroud inhibitor 400, providing increased resistance to rearward lockout-shroud movement after a second predefined lockout-shroud rearward movement that's less than the first predefined rearward movement. Preferably, prior to device activation, lockout-shroud-inhibitor 400 provides reduced resistance after its increased resistance is overcome, with inhibitor 400 acting between lockout-shroud and body 118, inhibitor 400 includes a pair of mechanically interfering features comprising resilient member 402 on one of shroud 112 & body 118, and a lip 403 on the other of shroud 112 & body 118, with resilient-member 402 engaging lip 403 at the second predefined position and flexing over lip 403 when an increased force is applied between lockout-shroud 112 and body 118. |
