Glazing support system

A glazing support system for attaching a glazing unit 4 to a frame element 9 of the glazing support system comprises a tension member 10, for extending around at least a part of the periphery of the glazing unit 4 and a connection system 11 for coupling the tension member 10 to the frame element 9, in at least two locations and for transferring tension forces from the tension member 10 to the frame element 9. The tension member may be a strap which extends around a major portion of the periphery of the glazing unit 4 and the frame element which receives the loads from the tension member may extend along only one side of the glazing unit. A tensioning member may be provided at one or both ends of the tension member, and be attached to the frame element, or may be provided part way along a length of the tension member. The tension member may be secured to the frame by anchor blocks which may be at adjacent corners of the frame.
