System and method of managing key entity records

A system, method, and program for managing key entity records required by a user, wherein there is a database arrangement storing a structured database containing entity records and a processing module coupled with the database such that the database is received 202 wherein each record comprises a name and plurality of attributes belonging to asset classes. An importance score is determined for each record 204 based on the attributes and asset classes which have corresponding predefined contribution metrics towards the important score of a given record. Key entity records are identified based on the importance scores 206, and a tuning input is received from a user to adjust the contribution metrics 208. A tuned importance score is then calculated based on the importance score and tuning input 210 so that key entity records required by the user can be identified 212. The processing module may be further operable to develop the database by crawling existing data sources to extract data records, structuring the extracted data records to obtain entity records, tagging each with an asset class and identifying a field of each of the key entity records.
