System scaffold standard and system scaffold assembly comprising the same

A system scaffold standard comprises a tube (1, Fig 1) with first and second ends (3, 4, Fig 1) and a plurality of permanent fixings 5, the fixings spaced from one another along the length of the tube. A first male connector (6, Fig 1) is fixed in one end of the tube to project axially therefrom, and a second female connector (7, Fig 1) is fixed in a second end. The male and female connectors engage with corresponding male and female connectors of abutting standards in use. The male connector 6 comprises one or more radially projecting lugs 8, whilst the female connector 7 comprises an opening 13, the opening arranged to allow the insertion of a male member into the opening 13 in a first relative orientation and subsequent axial rotation of the male member within the female member between first and second relative orientations. A locking member (13b, Fig 3b) is provided in the female member, the locking member blocking the passage of the one or more lugs out of the female member when the male member is in the second relative orientation.
