Apparatus for providing a brewed beverage

Apparatus 10 for providing a brewed beverage comprising a brewing arrangement 15 configured to brew a beverage according to a selected one of a plurality of brewing processes, at least one being a hot brewing process and at least one being a clod brewing process. The arrangement including a controller 30 configured to receive a user selection and to control the brewing arrangement dependent on the user selection. The cold brewing process preferably being at a temperature between 30 and 50 Celsius. Also disclosed is an arrangement including a pH sensor (C) in the brewing chamber 15 to determine the pH of the brewing fluid, a controller 30 being arranged to control the brewing processes dependent on the pH value. The controller preferably being arranged to control at least one of the volume of fluid supplied to the chamber, the temperature of the supplied fluids or the chamber and/or the brewing duration. Also disclosed is a brewing apparatus arranged to brew a beverage and including a pressurised gas source 50 to selectively add pressurised gas to the brewing fluid responsive to a user request.
