Residue-minimized antiperspirant composition with improved skin feel

A sweat-suppressing composition for personal body care, comprising: at least one sweat suppressing agent which is present in suspended, non-dissolved form and is selected from aluminium salts and aluminium-zirconium salts, 0-7 wt.% free water, at least one non-volatile oil in 28-61 wt.%, at least one volatile oil at 5-35 %w/w, 0.1-5 wt.% rice starch, 0.1-5 wt.% of cornstarch or maize amylopectin, optionally in hydrophobically modified form. The anti-perspirant composition is described as being substantially anhydrous. Also disclosed is a cosmetic method for reducing or regulating sweat production or body odour comprising applying a composition as described herein to the skin. Disclosed is the use of rice starch and cornstarch or maize amylopectin in sweat suppressing composition for reducing and/or regulating sweat production and improving skin feel whist also minimising white residue formation on items of clothing when the composition comprises aluminum or aluminum-zirconium. The composition may be used in an aerosol container.
