Zusammenfassung: | A method of analysing user interaction with an inhalation device 10, such as a tobacco industry product, comprising: detecting a sound (audio profile) generated by the use of the device over a time period encompassing one or more puffs 25; and processing the audio profile to extract at least one parameter of the user's use of the product during the time period. The parameter may be: inhalation duration (d, Fig. 5) or inhalation cubic volume (area under the puff audio profile, Fig. 7). The duration of the puff may be the time which the amplitude exceeds a background noise threshold. The sound may be detected by: a single microphone 14; or microphone array, spaced along a line parallel to the device's length. The microphone may be: placed in contact with or adjacent to the device; and be removably fastened onto the device (34, Fig. 2). The tobacco industry product may be a non-combustible vapour provision (vaping) device, and the microphone may be integrated onto or within the vaping device's housing. |
