Zusammenfassung: | An ocular cannulation device for administering an active agent containing composition to the suprachoroidal space or supraciliary space. An elongated body 15 has a hollow needle 8 at a distal end, a cannula comprised of a tubular element 17 and light conducting means such as an optical fibre 18 or tubular waveguide contained within and deployable through the needle when advanced by a mechanical coupling mechanism 7. The mechanism advances the tubular element simultaneous with or subsequent to the placement of the needle tip within the eye to advance the tubular element into the desired space. Delivery of an active agent to the tubular element is provided by a connector 9 or a reservoir. A distal seal may block the needle lumen and act as a penetrable tissue interface on the surface of the eye. Methods of treating a disease using the device described are also provided. |
