Zusammenfassung:	A support apparatus, for use in supporting masonry construction, includes first and second support portions 3, 5, and first and second spacer means 7, 11. At least part of the spacers are located between the support portions, providing or maintaining them in a spaced relationship. The spacer means are configurable and/or arranged such that the distance between the first and second support portions can be varied or selected, as required by a user. A third spacer (9, fig 4b) may be used. The spacers may be threaded and pass through the supports. The supports may be arranged to receive a rolled steel joist 25 or lintel therebetween, during the process of removal of a section of wall 21. A method of manufacturing a support apparatus and a method of using a support apparatus are also provided.
