Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a security sheet 10 includes laser marking and a security sheet marked by a laser. The security sheet comprises a plastic substrate 11 having opposing first and second outer surfaces 12, 13, at least one mask 25 at least partially embedded in or located on the plastic substrate and a laser markable region 30 located between the second outer surface 13 and the at least one mask. The method comprises directing a laser from the first outer surface 12 onto at least part of the at least one mask, which blocks the laser from the laser markable region 30, and adjacent to the at least one mask and to the laser markable region. Therefore at least one mark 31 aligned with the at least one mask is formed in the laser markable region.
