Zusammenfassung:A method and apparatus for quickly forming a PAN is describe herein. During operation a device will detect that it has gone from a charging state to a non-charging state (i.e., a battery not being charged). Moving from a charging state to a non-charging state is utilized as a trigger to form or join a PAN. Thus, a PAN can quickly be formed at the beginning of an officer's shift, simply by removing devices from a charger.
