Zusammenfassung:	Separating apparatus (10) for a vacuum cleaner (200) has a first separating unit (12) and a second separating unit (14) movable between a first position and a second position with respect to the first separating unit (12). The separating apparatus (10) has a collection chamber (54) having an end wall (58) movable between a closed position for collecting debris separated by the first separating unit (12), and an open position for removal of debris collected by the collection chamber (54). Movement of the second separating unit (14) from the first position to the second position causes movement of the end wall (58) from the closed position to the open position, and movement of the second separating unit (14) from the second position to the first position causes movement of the end wall (58) from the open position to the closed position.
