Zusammenfassung:An instrument panel and steering column assembly 50, (100 Fig.3, 200 Fig.4) is disclosed in which a rigid ramp 14, (114 Fig. 3, 214 Fig. 4) is 5 rigidly connected to a tubular upper part 11 of a steering column assembly 10, (110 Fig. 3, 210 Fig. 4) for interaction with a displaceable part 6 of an instrument panel 5 in order to move the displaceable part 6 in a reliable manner out of the way during a crash scenario in which a steering wheel 25 is displaced towards the instrument panel 5. The displacement of the displaceable part 6 by the rigid ramp 14, (114 Fig. 3, 214 Fig. 4) permits the steering wheel 25 to be fully displaced without the instrument panel 5 hindering such motion.
