Zusammenfassung:	A food processing apparatus, such as a blender, comprises a planetary gearing arrangement wherein one or more planet gears 103 having respective first rotational axes are configured to also rotate about a second rotational axis. The apparatus further comprises a sound insulation element 105 that rotates about the second axis. The sound insulation element may occupy a part of a volume swept by the planet gear(s). The planet gears and sound insulation element may be mounted to a carrier plate 102. One or more of the planet gears may drive a food processing tool 104. The sound insulation element may comprise a fibrous material, an open-pored foam or a dimensionally stable plastic or rubber material. The apparatus aims to reduce noise generated by the appliance.
