An open refrigerated display case and an adjustable shelf for an open refrigerated display case

Disclosed is an adjustable shelf 28 suitable for use in an open refrigerated display case (ORDC). The shelf comprises a stationary frame 30 having a pair of brackets 34a,34b to attach the shelf to an interior wall of an ORDC; a movable shelf plate 46 coupled to the stationary frame and movable between a plurality of positions relative to the stationary frame; and a flow controlling device 52 provided at a front end of the stationary frame and extending across the width of the shelf. The flow controlling device is disposed forward of the movable shelf plate. The flow controlling device may define outer and inner slots 58a,58b that extend transversely across the shelf. The movable shelf plate may be hinged to the stationary frame, and may be supported in an inclined position by a support mechanism. Also disclosed is an ORDC comprising the adjustable shelf described above.
