Golf Club And Golf Club Head Structures

Disclosed is a golf club head 200 comprising a body 202 having: a ball striking face 211 defining a plane; a rear 212 opposite the ball striking face 211; a crown 214; a sole 215; a heel 218; and a toe 216. The body 202 further comprises: a void 230 defined by a peripheral edge 238 on the sole; and a cover 250 that extends over the void 230 to form at least a portion of the crown 214. At least a portion of the peripheral edge 238 comprises a lip 247 that extends inwardly into the void 230. The golf club head 200 further comprises a weight receptacle 242 connected to the sole 215 and having an opening 243 in the sole 215. The weight receptacle 242 takes the form of a receiving tube extending from the crown 214 to the sole 215, defining a weight receptacle axis. The weight receptacle axis is angled with respect to a vertical axis V of the golf club head 200 such that the end of the weight receptacle opposite the opening 249 is closer to the rear 212 of the golf club head body 202 than the opening 249. Also disclosed is a second golf club head having a recessed area 248 on the sole 215.
