Zusammenfassung:	A sausage cutting apparatus 10 comprises a support base 26 defining a feed path 36 for a sausage; two opposing cutting assemblies 28, 32 and a guide system. The cutting assemblies 28, 32 each include an elongate continuous carrier member 38 and a plurality of longitudinally spaced cutting devices 30 which include a cutting blade 44 and an abutment plate 46. The guide system guides the first and second cutting devices 30 such that they are initially displaced inwardly towards one another until the cutting blade 44 of the second cutting device 30 is at least partially received between the cutting blade 44 and abutment plate 46 of the first cutting device 30 in a conjugate meshing action and thereafter displaced in a direction away from one another.
