Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:A vent unit 30 is provided for controlling air flow into or out of a building, comprising one or more apertures 35 through which air can enter or leave the vent unit, and a vent 28 which moves between a first position 28a that prevents air flowing through the apertures into or out of the vent unit and a second position 28c that permits air flow therethrough. The vent is configured to move away from the first position dependent on the value of an environmental parameter inside the building, such as temperature, air pressure, air quality or humidity, being compared with a predefined or measured value of the same parameter. For example, it may be compared to the value outside the building. A method may include measuring at least one parameter inside and outside the building, and moving the vent between the first and second position based on the parameter measured inside the building being compared to a predefined/measured value. In a further embodiment, the vent is formed of a deformable material such as a shape memory material, which changes geometry in response to changes in an environmental parameter.
