Apparatus and method for displaying information

A display method for use in a vehicle 300 comprises obtaining first and second images showing adjacent or overlapping regions external to the vehicle, the images are captured at different points in time and may be captured by one or more apparatus such as cameras 310, 320 mounted on the vehicle. The first image may be a time-delayed image and the second image may be a live image. At least one image property, such as white balance, image gamma, dynamic range, Chroma and colour saturation, is obtained for each of the images and is used to calculate an image correction factor. The appearance of the first image and/or the second image is adjusted according to the image correction factor and the modified images are used to generate and display composite images with a reduced appearance of discontinuities. A corresponding display apparatus and computer program is also disclosed. The composite image may be two dimensional or three dimensional and may overlie a portion of an image of the vehicle, to be indicative of the portion of the image of the vehicle being at least partially transparent.
