Image contrast enhancement method

The present invention provides an image contrast enhancement method. In the method, absolute values of gray scale differences between pixels of adjacent two rows in a same column and gray scale differences between pixels of adjacent two columns in a same row are separately calculated; a first gray scale value weight and a second gray scale value weight are separately calculated according to the absolute values; then cumulative calculation and normalization processing are carried out by means of the first gray scale value weight and the second gray scale value weight, an enhanced gray scale table is finally acquired; and gray scale values of the pixels are reallocated, and accordingly, the image contrast can be improved, image distortion can be reduced, and display effects are optimized.
