Monochrome-color mapping using a monochromatic imager and a color map sensor
A method for providing a high-resolution colour image of a scene is described. The monochrome luminosities 518, 520 from a high-definition black and white image (118, Fig.3) are related to colour luminosities corresponding to colours from a low resolution colour image (120, Fig. 4) of the scene, via...

Zusammenfassung: | A method for providing a high-resolution colour image of a scene is described. The monochrome luminosities 518, 520 from a high-definition black and white image (118, Fig.3) are related to colour luminosities corresponding to colours from a low resolution colour image (120, Fig. 4) of the scene, via a correlation map 522 which may employ grayscales 302 and colour scales 402. This map is used to colorize the high-resolution monochromatic image, thus generating a respective high-resolution colour image. A single pixel of the colour image may be used to colorize multiple pixels of the high-resolution black and white picture. The dynamic ranges of the grayscale and colour scales may be adjusted to match each other, possible linking larger sub-ranges of the colour scale with smaller sub-ranges of the grayscale. |
