Operator display switching preview

A method/user interface (UI) for previewing a process section 262 in a process plant while simultaneously viewing another process section 202 comprises: Presenting a process section depicting a first portion of a process plant including graphic representations of a plurality of process plant entities within the process plant. Providing at least one user control 282 which includes an indication of another process section depicting another portion of the process plant adjacent to the first portion of the process plant. Receiving, via the user control, a request to display a preview of the other portion of the process plant. And presenting at least a portion of the process section while simultaneously presenting at least a portion of the other process section including an intersection 264 between the process sections within the process plant. A full view of the other process section including not presenting the first process section may be presented on request. Process parameters of process plant entities may be adjustable in preview mode.
