Network entities, a wireless communication system and a method for collecting data for multiple mobile network operators

A base station supporting multiple MNOs broadcasts on a first frequency a first public land mobile network identifier (PLMN-ID) of a first MNO at a first instant in time and broadcasts on a second frequency a second PLMN-ID of a second MNO at a second instant in time. The broadcasts may be time multiplexed according to schedules which allow each MNO time for presence detecting of wireless devices operating in each network. The base station may act as a presence cell which collects information on the devices which attempt to access each of the networks in response to receiving the broadcasts. A presence cell management entity defines a parameter set for different MNOs and a time multiplexing schedule of frequencies for supporting the MNOs and sends them to the base station.
