In-situ deployment device

An in-situ deployment device 20, for transporting and applying an expandable sleeve on the inside of the pipe, comprises an inflatable section 21 and a positioning section 22. The inflatable section 21 carries and expands the expandable sleeve, and the positioning section positions the deployment device 20 at the correct location inside the pipe. The inflatable section 21 and the positioning section 22 are connected such that the two sections can move relative to each other. This can be via at least one rod 23, for example two rods 23 positioned adjacent each other on one radial side of the deployment device 20. The positioning section 22 can comprise a camera and a light source, and means for centring the positioning section 22. The inflatable section 21 can comprise an inflatable bladder 24 and end caps 25 on each side. The inflatable section can be sized so that the expandable sleeve is does not touch the inside of the pipe when it is being transported through the pipe. The expandable sleeve comprises a backing layer and an adhesive layer, with the adhesive layer facing the outside when it is positioned on the deployment device 20.
