Surface water drain system and component thereof

The component 100 comprises a duct 110 extending from one end face to a second end face, and a channel 120 in its upper face 101 connected to the duct by a recess 130 formed in one of the end faces. There may be a plurality of channels. There may be channels on the side edges of the upper face. There may be recesses on each end face. The recesses may have sides 131, 132 which extend either perpendicularly or at an angle to the upper face. The sides of the recess may be parallel, or diverge or converge from each other. Also claimed is a drainage system comprising a plurality of the components arranged end-to-end. An end having a recess may face a planar end or an end having a recess of an adjacent component. Also claimed is a method of installing a plurality of the components end-to-end.
