Barrier support assembly, barrier system and method for deploying a barrier support assembly

The assembly comprises an upright support (2, fig.2) and one or more barrier supports 1, each barrier support having a fastener 10 on a first side for retaining a barrier (3, fig.2), and a magnetic connector on an opposite second side, the magnetic connector comprising a magnet 12a, 12b on a spacer 11a, 11b, the magnet being inserted into a hole (20, fig.2) in the upright support so that the magnet and the fastener abut opposite sides of the upright support, and the spacer abuts the inside of the hole, the magnet being located offset from the hole. The fastener may comprise a clip or detachable bracket 13. The magnet may be neodymium. The upright support may have two or more holes and each barrier support may have two corresponding magnets for insertion in the respective holes. The upright support may be glass reinforced plastic. The holes may be round. Also claimed is a barrier system comprising at least two of the assemblies and a barrier.
