A method for image transformation

A method comprising: obtaining, by an immersive display unit, i.e. a Head Mounted Display (HMD), an image to be displayed; obtaining an input indicating a main viewing direction of a user 502 of the immersive display unit; determining a first value for an image modification parameter, i.e. zoom ratio, blurring strength, colour tone, colour selection, for an image element residing in the main viewing direction; determining a second value for the image modification parameter for image elements A deviating from the main viewing direction, where the second value is a function of the angle α between main viewing direction and the deviated direction; and displaying the image according to the determined values of the image modification parameter on the immersive display unit. The embodiment is directed towards processing an image based on the tracking of a users head movements, such that when their head moves, i.e. nodding, the distance to an object in the image changes. This process is based on the transformation of image regions based on the angular change between a persons position, and the object being viewed.
