Showerhead and washing system

The present invention is in the field of cleansing apparatus. Specifically it relates to a showerhead and units operable with showerheads. A showerhead 1000 for spraying a jet of liquids and gases, comprises: head (Fig. 9, 100) fixed proximate an end of a neck (Fig. 9, 200), a plurality of conduits 210, 220 though the neck, a plenum (Fig. 10, 110) in the head 100 having an exit (Fig.10, 125) through a face (Fig. 10, 120) of the head, and a valve 300 operable by a user e.g via a lever, from a neutral state to one of a plurality of other states, such that in the neutral state the valve blocks passage of fluid though all the conduits, and in any the other states the valve unblocks a passage to the plenum from the conduits. The valve may be a piston valve.
