Zusammenfassung:	The towel 10 comprises a fibre web having first and second faces 12, 16. The first face is coated in a layer of liquid repellent material. A barrier material may coat a layer of fibre inwardly of the first face to form a barrier layer 50. The towel may comprise a plurality of plies. The barrier layer may be impervious to vapour and liquid. The fibre material at the second face may be dry for absorbing liquids. A sealant layer may be provided inwardly of the second face and a layer of liquid impregnated fibre material may be provided inwardly of the sealant layer. Alternatively a layer of superabsorbent material 80 may be provided between the second face and a sealant layer 60, with a layer of releasing agent 82 provided inwardly of the sealant layer for releasing liquid from the superabsorbent layer.
