Zusammenfassung:A seal mold assembly for manufacturing grooved metal end cap (MEC) seals 12 comprising: an inner annular mold ring 70 and an outer annular mold ring 72 configured to receive a mold sleeve or mold insert 96, 98 in an annular cavity between the rings. The mold sleeve comprises a radially inward or outward facing profile comprising a protrusion that forms the grooves 38, 40 on the seals. The mold sleeve is held substantially stationary to the preform during the seal manufacture. Preferably the mold sleeve comprises an inner mold sleeve that forms the grooves on the inner face of the seal, and an outer mold sleeve that forms the grooves on the outer face of the seal. The mold sleeve may be flexible and non-metallic (e.g. PTFE). The mold inserts may also be used interchangeably to manufacture many types of grooved seals.
