Information processing apparatus, method for controlling information processing apparatus, image processing system and storage medium

An information processing apparatus which may be a head mounted display (HMD) has a first image capturing means 1202, which may be for obtaining a position and orientation of the HMD, and second image capturing means 1203, which may be for experiencing mixed reality (MR). The apparatus has a luminance obtaining means for obtaining first and second luminance values captured by each of the respective image capturing means. The apparatus has a tracking parameter obtaining means which obtains a first and second tracking parameter of automatic exposure control corresponding to a change in brightness of the physical space imaged by each of the respective image capturing means. The apparatus has a setting means (1304, fig 3) which sets parameters for the first and second image capturing means based on the respective luminance values and tracking parameters of each image capturing means. The setting means may also be based on a photometric method based on the orientation of the image capturing means. The tracking parameters may also indicate respectively a time difference from when brightness of an external environment changes until when tracking of automatic exposure control is performed where the first parameter is shorter than the second (Fig 6).
