Zusammenfassung:Compositions for the treatment of siliceous materials (e.g., silica and/or other silicates) in subterranean applications include, in some embodiments, a base fluid, a catechol component, and at least one of an amine component and ammonia, wherein the treatment composition has a basic pH, wherein the molar ratio of the amount of the at least one of the amine component and ammonia to the amount of the catechol component is from about 3:1 to about 15:1, and wherein the amount of the at least one of the amine component and ammonia increases the pH of the treatment composition to greater than 8.
