Zusammenfassung:A method to form a virtual 3D image (e.g. depth map) at the full resolution of a microlens based light field (or plenoptic) camera. Also claimed is a method to correct aberrations in a plenoptic camera by capturing a known pattern (i.e. a calibration pattern) and compensating using a correction function to map the captured pattern into what should have been the final pattern in a perfect camera free of optical aberrations with the full lateral resolution of the sensor. The known pattern is further claimed as illuminating the sensor with white light patterns over a dark black background.
