[Problem] To provide a rail vehicle structure rigid and strong enough to bear a load, the rail vehicle structure being provided with a base frame that can be manufactured in few man-hours. [Solution] A middle beam (43) is configured from an extruded shape having a vertical piece (43a), a horizontal piece (43b) extending horizontally from the upper end of the vertical piece (43a) in a height direction (120), a horizontal piece (43c) extending horizontally from the middle of the vertical piece (43a) in the height direction (120), and a horizontal piece (43d) extending horizontally from the lower end of the vertical piece (43a) in the height direction (120). When the middle beam (43) is partially cut away in the height direction, the horizontal piece (43d) and the vertical piece (43a) extending from below the horizontal piece (43c) to the horizontal piece (43d) are removed, but the remaining middle beam (43) remains as a C channel member comprising the vertical piece (43a), the horizontal piece (43b), and the horizontal piece (43c), and high rigidity and strength are maintained.
