Zusammenfassung:	Ported catheter assemblies are disclosed that include a catheter hub 10 having a distal end, an interior cavity 13, and a proximal end; a port 15 extending from the catheter hub and communicating with the interior cavity 13 of the catheter hub, a catheter 40 extending from the distal end of the catheter hub, and a seal valve 50 located between the port and the interior cavity of the catheter hub. The longitudinal axis of the port is radially offset from the axis of the catheter hub, such that the axis of the port and the axis of the interior cavity of the catheter hub do not intersect and are offset from each other. Preferably the axis of the port is perpendicular to and offset from the axis of the catheter (see figure 6). The valve 50 is a deformable sleeve which is collapsed under physical or fluid pressure to allow fluid flow from the port into the catheter. An in-line port is also disclosed.
