Zusammenfassung:A driver interface is provided for a kinetic energy recovery system (KERS)-equipped vehicle, comprising a brake pedal 1 having first and second operating ranges 5, 6. A further driver interface comprises an accelerator pedal 3 having first and second operating ranges 7, 8. A corresponding control system and a system comprising both pedals 1, 2 are also provided. In the first range 5, 7, KERS braking is prioritised. In the second range for the brake pedal 1, other braking may include foundation braking or engine braking. In the second range 8 for the accelerator pedal, acceleration occurs. For KERS braking, pedal resistance is provided which is similar to that which would apply with operation of foundation brakes. A degree of regenerative braking may be controlled by lifting off the accelerator pedal 3 or by applying a light pressure to the brake pedal 1 in order that enhanced fuel economy may be achieved.
