Zusammenfassung:	A liquid storage tank 16, for example an aircraft fuel tank, comprising a tank wall enclosing a liquid storage space 14 and a plurality of tie assemblies located at least partially within the liquid storage space. Each tie assembly comprises an elongate member 20, for example a wire or cable, and a plurality of attachment devices 22 fixed to an inner surface of the tank wall. Each attachment device is attached to a different inner surface of the tank wall, the elongate member crosses the liquid storage space and the tie assemblies are spaced closely together at or proximate to edges of the liquid storage tank. Preferably each tie assembly exerts an inward force on the tank wall to resist outward deformation of the tank wall, e.g. upper skin 10 due to impinging high pressure pulses and shockwaves 30 travelling through the fluid in the fuel tank when it is hit by a high speed projectile 24.
