Zusammenfassung: | In a Multipath Transmission Control Protocol (MPTCP) connection comprising subflows (eg. WiFi and 3GPP/LTE subflows to a smartphone) between a client device and a server, client preferences (eg. WiFi preferred) stored at the client device are used to modify transmission of TCP acknowledgement packets over a subflow, causing a congestion control module at the server to allocate data packets between the subflows according to the client preferences. A dummy acknowledgement eg. ACKWiFi may cause the congestion control module to increase the size of an associated congestion buffer window (WWiFi), while withholding a real acknowledgement eg. ACK3G may cause a decrease in window size. A library of modified TCP packets allows the server to determine that the client is seeking to align packet provision with its preferences. |
