Zusammenfassung:	A storage carrier 8 has a first storage medium 10 of a defined form factor, and a dongle 14 within the carrier, the dongle having a second storage medium. The second storage media may have a different form factor. The storage system may contain plural storage media having a plurality of slots each for receiving a storage carrier. The first storage medium may be a hard disc drive (HDD) and the second storage medium may be a solid state drive (SSD). A SAS-SATA bridge may be provided. The dongle and second storage medium are position within the carrier that is the same size as a carrier only holding the first storage medium. The dongle may comprise a support PCB on which is mounted a controller or bridge and a connector is provided to allow connection to the SSD.
