Zusammenfassung:Control method for vehicle having transmission with at least one forward 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and at least one reverse RH, RL gear ratio, and at least two clutches A, B, the method comprising selecting / engaging a forward or reverse gear via first clutch A, pre-selecting an opposing forward or reverse gear via second clutch B, determining / detecting hill descent failure, and selecting / engaging an opposing forward or reverse gear. Wheel brake may also be automatically applied. Ascent failure may be determined by measurement and combination of vehicle speed, road gradient, road friction, wheel speed, vehicle speed, threshold or maximum torque / power / throttle / wheel slip being reached. Gear pre-selection may occur prior to / during gradient ascent, possibly in response to detection of threshold attitude / pitch / multiple gear downshifts, selection of lowest gear / hill ascent drive mode. A driver may be notified of hill ascent failure, and may respond via use of touchscreen / voice command.
