Zusammenfassung:A combustion engine timing drive transmission 500 comprises a first mechanical transmission 510 having first sprocket/pulley 515 keyed to a crankshaft 145, a second sprocket/pulley 520 keyed to an intermediate shaft 505 and a transmission chain/belt wound around the first and second sprockets 515, 520. A second mechanical transmission 530 connects the intermediate shaft 505 to a camshaft 135 so that the camshaft 135 is driven from the crankshaft 135. The second transmission 530 comprises a first gear 535 keyed on the intermediate shaft 505 and meshed with a second gear 540 keyed on the camshaft 135. A second camshaft 135 may be driven by a third mechanical transmission 600 comprising a third gear 605 keyed on the second camshaft 135 and meshed with and driven by the second gear 540. The first transmission may comprise a gear train and the gears 540, 605 of the second and third transmissions 530, 600 may be replaced with chains or belts wound around sprockets or pulleys.
