Zusammenfassung: | A vehicle system for remote keyless entry (RKE) utilising a wireless device 12 (key fob), at least 2 auxiliary base stations (ABS) 16a/b and a main base station (MBS) 14 operating in the ultra wide band. The ABS receives a signal from the key fob and sends a message to the MBS including the time of arrival (TOA) of the signal. The MBS contains information on particular zones in and around the vehicle and calculates a two or three dimensional position of the fob using the TOA data and determines which zone the fob is in. Alternatively the ABS may calculate the key fob position and relay this data to the MBS. Multipath mitigation may be performed by rejecting TOA data that does not conform to certain geometric restrictions or thresholds whilst further accuracy enhancement techniques may include Kalman filtering and rolling averaging. The system may be adapted for tyre pressure monitoring. |
