Zusammenfassung:	ï»¿The invention relates to connecting fittings. The polymeric device for protecting a pipe coupling comprises graduated bushings mounted between the ends of pipes which have a conical thread and are connected by the coupling. A first graduated bushing has a constant outside diameter and two portions, one with a small inside diameter and one with a large inside diameter. A second graduated bushing has a constant inside diameter and two portions, one with a small diameter and one with a large diameter. The small inside diameter of the first bushing and the inside diameter of the second bushing are equal to the inside diameter of the pipes being connected, and the outside diameter of the first bushing and the larger outside diameter of the second bushing are equal to the inside diameter of the coupling. The first bushing is interference fit to the second bushing, and the amount of possible movement of the bushings relative to one another exceeds the movement of the ends of the pipes when the threaded joint is tightened. The invention increases the durability of a connection.
